How can I get Sparky™?
In order to play Sparky™, you need a subscription. You can order the subscription from this website. After you order your subscription, you receive an email with detailed instructions on how to get the app.
Does Sparky™ require a subscription?
Yes, Sparky™ requires a subscription. Without it, the game cannot be played. The game cannot start without it.
Does Sparky™ require a spirometer?
Yes, Sparky™ requires a specific spirometer. It can only be played with the MIR Spirobank Smart.
Which Spirometer do I need?
Sparky™ can only be played with the MIR Spirobank Smart.
On what tablet/phone can I play Sparky™?
Currently, Sparky™ can only be played on an android device. It will be available on iOS soon.
What happens if I change devices?
If you change devices, you will need to download Sparky again on your new device. All of your previious measurement data is already saved in the database so you will not lose any data. However, the rewards are saved on the tablet or phone itself, so the rewards will not transfer to your new device. If Sparky is played on more than one device, the rewards will be different for each device but all of the data will be saved in the same database and nothing will be lost.
Where can I purchase the subscription?
How can I pay for the subscription?
There are various subscription and payment possibilities at the website. You will see the payment options when you go to the check out. Your insurance may partly or fully reimburse the cost of Sparky™ and/or the spirometer. It is up to you to check with your insurance company and obtain reimbursement if it is available to you.
Is Sparky™ covered/reimbursed by Insurance?
Your insurance may partly or fully reimburse the cost of Sparky™ and/or the spirometer. Check with your insurance provider.
For reimbursement you will need a letter of Medical Necessity from your Physician or Nurse Practitioner. Some insurance providers may also require a written Prescription. They will both need to be submitted to your insurance provider.
Sparky is classed as a "medical item." Medical Necessity includes the need for regular lung function monitoring as well as the difficulty or inability to measure lung function in some children. Discuss this with your Primary Care Provider to determine if your child falls into either or both of these categories or if they feel there may be another category of Medical Necessity to supporr reimbursment of Sparky™
Typical respiratory diseases where regular monitoring may be required include asthma, cystic fibrosis, pulmonary fibrosis, and interstitial lung diseases.
Prescription for Spirometer?
Depending on your eligibility, you may need a prescription for the spirometer from your doctor. Depending on your insurance policy, you may be eligible for reimbursement. It is up to you to check with your insurance company and obtain reimbursement if it is available to you. Please note that only the MIR Spirobank Smart works with Sparky™.
Where can I download the app?
Once you have paid for your subscription, you will get an email detailing how to set up an Account and download Sparky™. The email will include your unique subscription code for Sparky™. The link to download Sparky can be found on our website https://lung-games.com, but can only be used when the Account is activated and your unique subscription code is added to the Patient/Registered User’s file. Each code may only be used once and is associated with one specific patient. This is important to ensure that you are using the correct information for the correct patient and there is no confusion when monitoring your child’s lung health.
